Some Tips:

Get a second opinion.  Very little is black or white in the law.  Various shades of grey abound.  Attorneys in the same state, city, and area of practice often have differing opinions on the same point.

Check the date of the publication.  What was accurate and appropriate when the article was written may be illegal or inaccurate now.

Look for a name behind the Web address and information on who is writing the article or running the site.

Realize that the laws are different in each state, particularly in the area of family law.

Not sure if the information is complete and timely?  Visit the law library at the county courthouse.  Librarians there are trained to help you find information.
